What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a treatment that resurfaces the top layers of the skin using different chemicals to treat and exfoliate different skin types and conditions.

What is the difference between the different types of peels?

Chemical peels can be done at different depths-light, medium and deep depending on your desired result and downtime.

When will I start to peel & how long will I peel?

Depending on which depth peel you have depends on when you will start peeling, you will start peeling at all and how heavy the peeling will be. Typically with light peels “microscopic” peeling happens which mean your skin cells will exfoliate a couple days after the peel but you won’t actually see visible peeling. If you receive a medium or deep depth peel your skin will usually start to peel 48 hours later and can last up to a week to 10 days. You will see visible layers of medium to thick layers of skin exfoliating with stronger peels. Keep in mind everyone has different skin and each person will peel a little differently depending on their age and skin conditions.

A needling device is used to penetrate the skin. This will create thousands of micro wounds. Your body responds to the wounds by producing significant amount of collagen and elastin fibers. As a result, this will rejuvenate your face by filling in wrinkles and scars.

What Skin problems are Treatable by Microneedling?

Medical Light Face Therapy

How does it work?

Red light treatment is a therapy that can help with a variety of skin and medical conditions. This spectrum of light can aid in reducing pain (particularly effective for treating headaches), stimulating collagen to fill in lines and wrinkles, wound healing, and treating acne and seasonal affective disorder (SAD). This therapy has been shown to be effective in treating rosacea and eczema. By stimulating collagen, this therapy is a nonsurgical alternative to plastic surgery as it helps skin maintain elasticity and smoothes texture and fine lines. Red light activates adenosine triphosphate (ATP) found in muscle tissues. ATP generates more energy for the body to use in repairing damage. This therapy was developed through NASA light technology. The agency conducted a two year trial that showed a 96% probability of reduced pain in cancer patients. These experiments showed that red light reduced pain because it accelerated healing.

Blue light therapy works by killing bacteria on the surface of the skin. Bacteria is a major cause of acne and other skin maladies. Bacteria promotes inflammation, which is damaging to the skin.

The red/blue combination facial mask allows you to experience the benefits of both these highly effective therapies in one session. The mask can also be set to emit your choice red or blue light, so you can adjust the treatment depending on your needs.

Does this device emit harmful UV rays?

Red and blue light therapy utilizes no harmful ultraviolet radiation.

How many/often/and for what duration should treatments should be performed?

It depends on the type of skin issue you are treating. Your purchase includes a manual detailing treatment protocol. Many clients will see results within four days after the first treatment.

Is it safe for everyone?

Medical Light Face Therapy is safe and effective for all skin types, has no known side effects, downtime or pain and requires no after care.

The ultrasonic does not cause any trauma or inflammation on the skin so it is affective to use on sensitive and rosacea skin.

What is unique about an ultrasonic facial?

Our ultrasonic device is unique because it improves all skin conditions including acne, rosacea, pigmentation, and wrinkles, through cavitation, Sonophoresis and micro current. Cavitation is what removes the dead skin cells. Sonophoresis is the process that uses micrrojet frequency to penetrate nutrients into the skin. Micro current rebalances and repairs cells for younger rejuvenated skin.

Is there discomfort during the treatment?

The ultrasonic is a relaxing non-painful treatment.

Waxing

What’s the difference between hot and cold waxes?

Hot wax is a warm wax mixture that is spread over hair in the direction of the hair growth and uses a paper or muslin strip to remove. Cold wax already has the wax pre applied to the strips and is then applied to skin, with friction it generates heat to soften and bind the hair for removal.

How does waxing hair removal work?

Waxing removes the hair follicle from the root. New hair appears over the area waxed after average of 4-6 weeks.

Are there any health precautions to keep in mind with waxing?

It is important to discontinue any topical prescriptions in the area you are having waxed. If you have skin sensitivities, infected or irritated skin, please ask our esthetician/laser technician about any precautions you should be taking. Post treatment, we ask you to avoid tanning, warm baths, steam, saunas.

How long before hair reappears?

Hair goes through its own natural growth cycle and it depends on what area is waxed. Every area goes through its own growth cycle, some taking longer than others. An average of waxing would be every 4-6 weeks.

Can I use a numbing cream before I wax?

Numbing cream is not recommended because you may have a reaction to the wax after any topical being applied. Client comfort is important to us and our esthetician/laser technician will be sure to make you as comfortable as possible.

What effect does waxing hair removal have on the skin?

Since waxing is a mild exfoliation and removes dead skin cells, you may experience side effects. Some side effects may be ingrown hairs, bumps, bruising, skin discoloration, redness or inflammation. Please consult with your esthetician/laser technician to see if waxing is right for you.

What’s the difference between hard and soft waxes?

Soft wax is thinly applied to skin and removed with a strip. Hard wax is thickly applied and hardens onto the skin. As it cools, it can be moved without strip.

How long should I wait after shaving to get a wax?

Everyone’s hair grows differently. A quarter of an inch is needed for the follicle to be sufficiently removed. It may take anywhere from 1-2 weeks for proper growth.

Makeup Application

What is airbrush makeup?

Airbrush makeup is the application of makeup via a compressor and airbrush gun (known as an airbrush makeup system) which is sprayed onto the skin as a fine mist which can be layered with several passes. The makeup used in airbrush makeup kits is more watery than traditional makeup and you can get full coverage with less makeup than would normally be used when using a makeup brush or sponge.

Is airbrush makeup better than traditional makeup?

Most fans of airbrush makeup will answer a resounding ‘yes!’ to this question. And I generally tend to agree–however, I’m also aware that sometimes traditional makeup has better uses or can work really well in combination with airbrush makeup. The reasons why airbrush makeup is generally considered better than traditional makeup is that it produces better coverage, is easier to apply, lasts for a long time without smudging and sits very lightly on the skin without irritating it (since you never have to physically touch your skin to apply airbrush makeup).

Brow and Lash Tint

How long does the tint last?

You will need a touch-up every 4-6 weeks (depending on how long the color stays) to keep your lashes the shade you want.

What can I expect during this service?

The entire lash tinting process takes approximately 15-20 minutes. First, cotton eye pads are placed around the eyes to prevent the dye from reaching the actual eye. Next, the dye is applied carefully to the upper and lower lashes. During the procedure your eyes remain closed. Finally the dye is rinsed away and your lashes are left darker.

Does it hurt?

We use a vegetable dye that contains harmless coloring ingredients. This dye is not permanent and it will eventually wash off. People with allergies to dye, sensitivities to color additives, or those with active eye infections should not get their brows or lashes tinted. You may experience a slight burning sensation but it will go away quickly after a thorough rinsing of the eye area. Contact lenses should be removed before treatment.

Is the lash extension glued to my skin?

The extensions are not glued to the skin, in any way. They are glued to actual natural lash one by one.

How long will the lashes last?

It depends on the growth cycle of your eyelashes. Everyone is different. It also depends on your lifestyle and activities. Also, may depend upon how you sleep at night and if your lashes are brushing against the pillow.

Do eyelash extensions harm your natural eyelashes?

They do not harm your natural lashes. There are different glues based on sensitivity of the client. If in need of removal, there is a gel remover that glides the bonding off of your natural lash.

Can I get the eyelash extensions wet?

For the first 12-24 hours, we ask that you do stay away from any moisture or water.
