Finishing Touches FAQ
Airbrush Makeup Application
What is airbrush makeup?
Airbrush makeup is the application of makeup via a compressor and airbrush gun (known as an airbrush makeup system) which is sprayed onto the skin as a fine mist which can be layered with several passes. The makeup used in airbrush makeup kits is more watery than traditional makeup and you can get full coverage with less makeup than would normally be used when using a makeup brush or sponge.
Is airbrush makeup better than traditional makeup?
Most fans of airbrush makeup will answer a resounding ‘yes!’ to this question. And I generally tend to agree–however, I’m also aware that sometimes traditional makeup has better uses or can work really well in combination with airbrush makeup. The reasons why airbrush makeup is generally considered better than traditional makeup is that it produces better coverage, is easier to apply, lasts for a long time without smudging and sits very lightly on the skin without irritating it (since you never have to physically touch your skin to apply airbrush makeup).
Brow and Lash Tint
How long does the tint last?
You will need a touch-up every 4-6 weeks (depending on how long the color stays) to keep your lashes the shade you want.
What can I expect during this service?
The entire lash tinting process takes approximately 15-20 minutes. First, cotton eyepads are placed around the eyes to prevent the dye from reaching the actual eye. Next, the dye is applied carefully to the upper and lower lashes. During the procedure your eyes remain closed. Finally the dye is rinsed away and your lashes are left darker.
Does it hurt?
We use a vegetable dye that contains harmless coloring ingredients. This dye is not permanent and it will eventually wash off. People with allergies to dye, sensitivities to color additives, or those with active eye infections should not get their brows or lashes tinted. You may experience a slight burning sensation but it will go away quickly after a thorough rinsing of the eye area. Contact lenses should be removed before treatment.
What is an eyelash extension?
It is a service that enhances your own natural lashes. They are single strands of individual lashes that replicate your true lash. They are applied individually with a semi-permanent glue that does not irritate nor damage your natural lash. Lash extensions will leave you looking beautiful every day, all day!
What are lash extensions made out of?
Lash extensions are made out of synthetic, silk or mink. They are available in different lengths and thickness.
How do I take care of lash extensions?
Avoid moisture or water with your lashes for first 12-24 hours. Avoid steam or saunas. Do not rub or pull on lashes. Do not use oils near lashes. Use a water based make-up remover. Please ask our specialists about any additional care or questions you may have.
Can I use an eyelash curler?
Using an eyelash curler is not recommended. They may pull too much at your extensions and cause them to fall off or may damage your natural lashes.
Can I use mascara?
Some clients receive this service so they no longer need to use mascara, however if you do choose to use mascara, it is highly recommended to use a water based mascara. Please do not use oil based or water proof mascara because it will dissolve the bond. This may cause them to fall off sooner.
Is the lash extension glued to my skin?
The extensions are not glued to the skin, in any way. They are glued to actual natural lash one by one.
How long will the lashes last?
It depends on the growth cycle of your eyelashes. Everyone is different. It also depends on your lifestyle and activities. Also, may depend upon how you sleep at night and if your lashes are brushing against the pillow.
Do eyelash extensions harm your natural eyelashes?
They do not harm your natural lashes. There are different glues based on sensitivity of the client. If in need of removal, there is a gel remover that glides the bonding off of your natural lash.
Can I get the eyelash extensions wet?
For the first 12-24 hours, we ask that you do stay away from any moisture or water.
How long will it last?
We recommend a fill in every 2-3 weeks. If you wait too long your eyelash extensions may fall out and you may require a full set.
Does it hurt?
It is virtually pain free and very comfortable. Most clients fall asleep during the treatment.
